SMART EYE EVENING MINGLE AND TECHNICAL VISIT
Smart Eye develops and markets eye tracking systems that remotely measure and calculate a person’s gaze. Today the company has two business areas: Research Instruments and Applied Solutions. Within Research Instruments, Smart Eye provides advanced eye tracking systems to measure and analyze human behaviour. Within Applied Solutions, Smart Eye provides eye tracking software for integration in vehicles.
Smart Eye is very pleased that the 2018 DDI conference is held in the same city as the company´s hometown and look forward to welcoming you to their premises for a tour. AstaZero
Welcome to AstaZero – the world’s first full-scale test environment for future road safety and automated driving! At this unique facility, different traffic environments make it possible to test automated and advanced active safety systems and their functions for all kinds of traffic and traffic situations. This enables research of future road safety systems and the proving ground is an international arena open for vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, legislators, universities and other stakeholders all around the world. AstaZero is located about one hour bus drive from the city centre of Gothenburg. The visit will cover presentations about the facility with special focus on testing of automated functions and systems related to distraction and inattention. You will also be taken on a guided tour around the test track and witness some examples of tests that can be carried out on the facility. Welcome!

Simulator Sim IV at Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI)
Welcome to VTI and the top-modern simulator SIM IV now with Bike!
Sim IV has an advanced motion system and permits significant linear movement along both x and y axes. It is useful when simultaneous longitudinal and lateral acceleration is important or if a wide field of vision is prioritised. Cabs and passenger compartments can be exchanged quickly and the simulator has both a passenger car compartment and a truck cab and and a bike. It has three LCD displays for rear-view mirrors and a visual system comprising nine projectors. The visual system gives the driver a 210-degree forward field of vision. The simulator’s imaging system has a camera-based calibration system, making it easy to switch between different driver positions. During your visit to VTI you will learn more about the simulator and experience SIM IV in motion, welcome!
Please note that the guided tour starts with about 450 meters walk outdoor to VTI’s facilities. Please dress accordingly!

MobilityXLab
In an increasingly complex and digitalized sector, where automation, electro mobility and connected vehicles comprise the future, new requirements are being set in terms of work approaches. Which is why MobilityXlab opened at Lindholmen Science Park in 2017. MobilityXlab is the working place where tech startups and companies can accelerate by accessing competence, tools and insights from leading subject matter experts. MobilityXlab, includes an innovation lab and expo space and during the study tour you will learn more about how the work in creating a sustainable and safe transport system with a high level of automation on a multidisciplinary area is carried out.

Volvo Cars factory tour
Take a ride on the factory tour through the Volvo Cars top-modern plant at Torslanda and get a behind-the-scenes view of the production line. Volvo Cars welcome 20,000 visitors a year on our factory tours, where your guide will take you through the production process, from rolls of sheet metal to finished cars. The tour last around one hour, with varying routes depending on maintenance or development work being carried out in the plant. Photography and the use of mobile phones are prohibited. The guided tour will be performed in English.
The tour starts 15:30, departure from Lindholmen conference centre at 14:45.
After the tour, transport will be arranged to Landvetter airport (expected arrival around 18:00) via Lindholmen Conference Centre.
